Danny Barker of Fitness Escapes raises fund for Mind with fitness challenge at Rutland Water

A personal trainer has pushed himself to the limit to raise funds for a mental health charity.

Danny Barker, owner of Fitness Escapes, completed a fitness challenge at Rutland Water dam on Sunday.

It consisted of 1.5 miles of balls slams, throws, burpees and a long jump - a challenge he set his clients when he first began online classes a year ago - taking just under three hours.

Danny, from Oakham, said: “I did it because people are in the same situation. It’s hard to not go out and about, and not see family and friends, you are in your own mind.”

He added: “Exercise is my biggest stress relief. It has got me out of dark places.”

The challenge has raised more than £790 for the charity Mind, which provides advice and support to people with mental health problems, and campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
