Several pheasants were killed after a fire destroyed the sheds they were kept in.

Flames took hold of the rearing sheds at The Park in Swinstead at about midday on Saturday.

Crews from Bourne, Corby Glen and Grantham were called to put out the fire, which also damaged several petroleum gas cylinders.

It is believed the fire may have been caused by a faulty gas supply.

The fire service spokesman said it was thought several pheasants were killed in the fire.
