LEARN MOREParkrun made a welcome return to Rutland Water on Saturday, having taken a long break during the pandemic.
The 5km event, which starts near Normanton Church before heading off over the reservoir dam, attracted nearly 200 runners and walkers.
First over the finish line was Hannah Lord from Rutland Running Club, who completed the distance in a swift 18-and-a-half minutes followed by Travis Anderson from a Sawtry club, who was 20 seconds slower.
Bourne Town Harriers and Stamford Striders were also represented, with Amy Rule clinching a new personal best of 21.17 as she crossed the line first for the Bourne Club, and Steve Parker leading home 22 Striders and arriving back just three seconds outside his PB, in 21.46.
The weekly event is run entirely by about volunteers who set up and marshal the course, time-keep and produce the results.
