Communities are to have their say after plans for a major new solar farm, set across Rutland and South Kesteven, were unveiled today (Thursday).

Mallard Pass Solar Farm would be set on an 2,174-acre site either side of the East Coast Main Line, near Essendine.

The team behind the project say the facility, which would be connected to the National Grid at the Ryhall substation, would generate enough renewable energy to power 92,000 homes.
