Plans to build three detached homes in Wymondham are rejected by Melton Council’s planning committee

Plans to build three detached homes in Wymondham have been refused by Melton Council’s planning committee.

A planning officer had recommended for the plans to build the properties in the grounds of The Bowery, Church Lane, to be approved subject to conditions.

But last night (Thursday) the council’s planning committee rejected the application.

Resident and objector Helen Selkin claimed there were ‘multiple errors’ in the submitted plans and raised concerns regarding the proposed site access and the development’s impact upon the conservation area.

The committee refused the scheme on grounds that the proposed accesses would be dangerous and contrary to highways safety and that due to the design, loss of a wall and trees it would have a detrimental impact upon the character of the area, conservation area and street scene.
