The Deepings School National Citizen Service group wages war against single-use plastic

Teenagers are promoting away to reduce single-use plastic which they hope businesses and residents will take on.

The project is part of the National Citizen Service (NCS), a nationwide, state-funded programme available to young people as an opportunity to learn life skills throughout a series of activities over a four-week period.

Lorna McGill, 16, who attends The Deepings School and is part of the group, said: “We’re in our fourth week of the programme and this week is about community action - getting out to make positive changes in the community.”
