Holloway Avenue in Bourne cordoned off in 'false alarm'

A sighting of what were believed to be suspicious men in Bourne turned out to be a false alarm.

Lincolnshire Police cordoned off Holloway Avenue this morning as they made their inquiries.

A police spokeswoman said today: "It turned out to be nothing."

The spokeswoman continued: "There was a report of what appeared to be five suspicious men. But we have attended. We are happy and content that these are men working in the area."

An onlooker confirmed to the Mercury that it was a false alarm.

She said: "They were actually builders waiting for the home owner to come home."
