Police called to Dowsby Fen near Bourne after reports of a man calling for help




A report of a man calling for help Dowsby Fen sparked a large police response last night (October 30).

Calls were received by Lincolnshire Police at about 6.30pm stating they could hear a man shouting 'help'.

Villagers came out to help police officers who were searching for the man on foot, with dogs and using the helicopter.

Inspector Rachel Blackwell, neighbourhood policing inspector for Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings, said: "There was three hours of police activity in the area last night and lots of local people helped with the search.

"It resumed this morning and we had the drone up for two hours but there is no indication of any casualty or anybody there."
