Police crackdown on hare coursing around A15 villages near Stamford and Bourne

Police are hunting illegal hare coursers through an operation to tackle countryside crime.

Lincolnshire attracts hundreds of coursers each year due to its relative flatness and open land and there have been 10 incidents locally since July 16.

These have happened in Morton, Baston, Langtoft and Dunsby - all along the A15 corridor.

Lincolnshire Police introduced 'Operation Galileo' in 2017.

This uses 4x4 vehicles which can drive over farmland and has reduced incidents by 30 per cent.

To report hare coursing call police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
