Lincolnshire Police investigating after fire in St Leonard's Street, Stamford recorded as arson




An arson attack at a property in Stamford is being investigated by police.

Fire crews were called to a flat in St Leonard's Street on Thursday afternoon (April 1).

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus had to break in to a locked flat to reach the blaze, and used hoses to extinguish it.

Police also attended and remained there until the evening.

Fire investigators concluded the incident was started deliberately and the matter has been handed over to the police.

No arrests have so far been made.
