Cambridgeshire Police investigate fires in Helpston, Bainton and Ufford

LEARN MOREPolice were called to several fires which are believed to be arson.
On Wednesday (August 3), firefighters and police were called to a number of fires near Stamford which they believe were set deliberately.
At just after 1.30pm grass and a hedge were alight in West Street, Helpston near the quarry.
Police attended the scene and searched the area but no arrests were made.
At 2pm in Barnack Road, Bainton a fire in the open had to be extinguished by crews.
A number of crews were also called to a field fire in Stamford Road, Ufford.
Farmers used machinery to create a fire break and assisted crews with extinguishing the fire.
Later, just before 5pm, a second blaze is believed to have been set in West Street, Helpston. This was a grass verge on fire.
No arrests have been made but Cambridgeshire Police is urging anyone with information to contact them on 101.
