Police swoop on Uppingham street to arrest trio suspected of shoplifting offences




Three men were arrested in Uppingham this morning (Monday, January 27) in relation to alleged shoplifting offences.

Officers swooped on the trio in the area of Old School Mews in the Rutland town shortly before lunchtime.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "Following information received in relation to alleged shoplifting offences, officers were in the area of Old School Mews, Uppingham, this morning.

"Three men, aged 33, 34, and 53, all from Corby, have been arrested on suspicion of theft. They currently remain in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing."
