Rutland Police officer warns of illegal rave plans and encourages residents to report suspicious activity

Police have urged residents to report anything suspicious after receiving information about plans for an illegal rave.

Officers in Rutland have been out today (May 21) on Operation Galileo, taking a 'pro-active and preventative' approach to tackle hare coursing.

They have also been raising awareness of a potential illegal music gathering, which could take place this weekend.

In a video on Rutland Police's Twitter account, PC Joe Lloyd said: "We would like to let residents and farmers know particularly about what we call Operation Safe, that is around illegal raves, gatherings, music gatherings.

"We do suffer from those within the Leicestershire Policing area and we have received some information that there might be one this weekend."

Anyone who sees anything suspicious can report it to Leicestershire Police on 101, or if it's an emergency call 999.
