Lincolnshire Police are urging residents to be aware of a telephone scam circulating the county.

Phone calls are being received regarding Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) claims with the caller requesting Amazon vouchers to release the claim.

The callers - who are using the name 'Kevin' and mention a courier called 'Mark White' - are claiming and using the name of a genuine company.

Phone calls are being made from the number: 0161 8184995.

Residents should also be aware of companies cold calling to offer call blocking services.

Police urge the community not to engage with the calls that are requesting payment in gift vouchers such as Amazon, Steam or iTunes.

They also note that many telephone service providers now offer a free call blocking service which will stop scam calls.

Call blocking devices can also be purchased, which attach to a phone and give the option to block all calls, other than the numbers that are programmed in.
