Police warning after report of PC World scam e-mail

Police news.
Police news.

Police have warned people to be vigilant after reports of an e-mail scam.

A Stamford resident reported what they believed to be a fraudulent e-mail to officers. PCSO Chris Clarke said: “The e-mail stated it was from PC World and was similar to a confirmation e-mail of an order for £600-worth of goods.

“The e-mail prompts to click a link or open attachments. PC World was contacted via the reporting resident and they confirmed this was a scam. Please be aware of emails of this nature.”
