Barrie Roper resigns from Rutland County Council

Councillor Barrie Roper (Con) has resigned from Rutland County Council with immediate effect.

Coun Roper, who was ward member for Ketton, is moving away from the area.

Coun Roper said: “I have been for the past 14 years immensely proud and privileged to represent both the Ketton ward locally and Rutland County Council regionally and nationally, particularly in my role with the Leicestershire Police authority for which I will always be proud.”

Rutland County Council chief executive Helen Briggs said: “On behalf of Rutland County Council, I would like to thank Coun Roper for all his years of dedicated service.”
