The annual parish meeting in Bourne was attended by seven members of the public on Tuesday, who heard a presentation on the process involved in registering Bourne Town Hall as a community asset - a suggestion put forward by town councillors.

Outgoing mayor David Higgs also gave a report on his year in office, including what the town council had achieved and bestowing the first ever ‘Freedom of the Parish’ on Paralympic skiing star Jade Etherington.

The annual town council meeting will be held on Tuesday at 7.30pm at Bourne Corn Exchange when the new mayor Bob Russell will take office. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
