PEOPLE will get a chance to see what a difference faster broadband will make to their lives.
BT will have a specially converted van in the High Street in Oakham on Wednesday from 10am until 6pm and Uppingham town centre on Friday next week from 10am until 3pm to showcase its superfast fibre broadband.
Fast and affordable fibre broadband will be available to the majority of the county by the end of next year as a result of the £3m Digital Rutland project, which is being run by Rutland County Council and BT.
Inside the van is a mock-up of the fibre broadband cabinets to show how it works and representatives from Rutland County Council and BT will be on hand to answer questions about the Digital Rutland project.

Meanwhile, Lincolnshire County Council is also pushing ahead with plans to upgrade the county’s broadband and has identified three potential pilot areas on the East Lindsey Coast, in Louth and in Boston to see what interest there is in a rural broadband scheme.
