A COUNTY council is on track to take on responsibility for enforcing parking restrictions in the autumn.

Lincolnshire County Council will employ 20 parking wardens from October onwards, who will enforce on-street traffic restrictions including double and single yellow lines, kerb markings and limited waiting times.

The police will retain powers for traffic offences that carry penalty points like obstructions.

Rutland County Council has been in charge of parking restrictions in the county since 2008.
