Stamford store Moshulu to tone down its colours

Have your say

A shoe shop which was told it would have to repaint the exterior has submitted a new planning application.

Moshulu in High Street, Stamford, had a retrospective application to paint the exterior in standard company colours turned down in March.

South Kesteven District Council described the colour as “strident turquoise” and said the colour was out of character with the historic building, which is listed, and the conservation area.

Now a new application has been submitted to the district council for a lighter colour, which the firm says is painted on its Ringwood store in Hampshire, which is also in a conservation area.

The application states the new colour was requested as the original colour was “unacceptable”.

The firm has more than 40 stores across the country.
