Last week the Mercury was allowed to film a Stamford Town Council meeting for the first time.
Legislation changes made by Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles mean the press and public can use video and social media to report from local authority meetings.
We have now cut down almost two hours of footage from last Tuesday’s meeting to give the highlights. Much of the footage that was cut was councillors discussing administrative matters.
Due to a technical problem a short section from the middle of the meeting did not record, but the meeting was covered in full in last week’s article.
Let us know what you think of the video and whether you would like to see us film more council meetings in the future by commenting below or e-mailing the newsdesk.
