Wardens start issuing tickets

Have your say

Wardens employed by Lincolnshire County Council start issuing fixed penalty notices today (Monday).

The wardens have been giving blue warning notices out to drivers, who are parked illegally or are causing an obstruction, for the last two weeks.

But from today, the tickets given will be the real thing.

The new powers introduce two new restrictions that will be enforced for the first time, which are dropped kerbs to allow those with wheelchairs or pushchairs to cross more easily and double parking so that people don’t cause an obstruction by parking too far from the kerb.

There are 20 wardens employed across the county.

Lincolnshire County Council is one of the last places in the country to take over responsibility for enforcing parking restrictions from police.
