Badly-painted double yellow lines in Stamford town centre will be repainted.

Lincolnshire County Council came under fire when the newly painted yellow lines dribbled in the cobbles in St Mary’s Place, Stamford.

But now highways workers plan to clean up the mess.

Area highways manager Kevin Brumfield said: “What we’re planning to do is remove the existing lines entirely and use a different type of adhesive material.”

This will be done before Christmas.
