Poppy Appeal reception with RAF orchestra

On Thursday, October 22 the Oakham branch of the Royal British Legion will host a reception in the Rutland County Museum to launch the 2015 Poppy Appeal.

By kind permission of the Air Force Board of the Defence Council, the six-piece Royal Air Force Salon Orchestra will play during the reception, which will include the customary refreshments and will commence at 7.30pm.

Air Vice Marshal Nigel Sudborough, president of the Oakham branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “This year we will welcome The RAF Salon Orchestra to Oakham and are confident its excellent music will provide the setting for a memorable evening in the delightful surroundings of the Rutland Museum’.

If you would like to support the Poppy Appeal, tickets are available to purchase for £25 at Music and More (01572 756578), and at Uppingham Sports and Books (01572 822211).
