Possession of more than 9,000 indecent images of children sees South Witham man jailed
A South Witham man has been sentenced to two and a half years in jail after admitting possessing and making indecent images of children.
Paul Hickling, 30, has been jailed after admitting possessing and making indecent images of children.
Hickling was arrested on July 17, 2014 after police executed a warrant at his then address in Church Street, South Witham.
He was subsequently charged with making and possessing a number of images of children, which he said he had accessed via online file sharing websites such as Limewire and latterly Shereaza.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child; one count of possessing prohibited images of a child; one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Hickling had 9,222 indecent images of children ranging from category C to category A; 18 extreme pornographic images and 88 prohibited images.
At Lincoln Crown Court on November 9, Hickling, who since his arrest had been living at Barker Hill in Lowdham, Nottinghamshire, was sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment.
