Power has been restored to homes and businesses in and around Oakham and Uppingham.

Western Power Distribution reported a problem in the LE15 area at about 10.10am this morning (Friday, January 15).

A spokesman for the company said it was caused by an underground cable fault, and about 420 properties were affected.

Power has now been restored.
