Primary schools across the area are reopening today or tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday, January 4 and 5) as planned, amid a debate over whether pupils should return with the current Covid-19 restrictions.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said it is "safe" for children to be in school and said primary schools should reopen as planned except in a few areas, but the National Education Union has advised its members not to return.
