HORTICULTURAL enthusiasts were out on mass on the weekend to show off their prize winning produce and crafts at a rural show.
Despite a difficult growing season, because of the unseasonable heavy rain, Easton-on-the-Hill Horticultural and Craft Society Show was swamped with entries on Sunday.
About 70 people took part in the competition with more than 370 entries in the range of different categories.
A show organiser Sue van Silver said: “It went a lot better than we thought it would. Everyone has struggled because of the poor growing season but we had a lot of entries.
“It was actually a very nice show.”
There was particular strength in the flower and cookery section as well as in the wine, beer and spirits.
The show also included an inter-horticultural society competition which encouraged neighbouring societies to compete across a wide range of categories.
Despite strong entries across the board the team prize was awarded to the hosts, Easton-on-the-Hill.
