Royal Duke pub in Oakham 'was victim of Covid prankster'

The manager of a pub in Oakham believes a customer who forced the venue to close by claiming he had Covid-19 is a prankster.

Corinne Johnson, of the Royal Duke on West Road, called last orders for two days on Wednesday (September 9) after receiving a call from a man saying he had tested positive.

He said he had been in the building on both Friday and Saturday night, forcing pub staff to undergo tests and undertake a full deep-clean of the building.
