Children have been learning how best to start the day with a special breakfast event.

Market Deeping Community Primary School pupils welcomed the Kids Country team who taught them where food comes from and how to eat healthily.

A potato farmer popped by with his tractor and the children also made their own pancakes.

Headteacher Mark Ratchford said: "It has been two years since we have been able to bring so many visitors to school and it was worth the wait.

"The volunteers and Kids Country team put together a wonderful, rich learning experience that all of our pupils enjoyed.

"These sorts of activities are so important to enable children to understand where their food comes from and what goes into making it.

"I hope it will inspire them to find out more and think carefully about their diets, impact on the environment and future careers."
