Try out sailing or windsurfing at Rutland Water in May 2019
People are invited to 'Push The Boat Out' and try sailing or windsurfing for a reduced price next month.
Rutland Water is one of the venues taking part in the push by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), with Rutland Sailing Club at Edith Weston and Rutland Watersports at Whitwell both offering sessions.
Gareth Brookes, from the RYA, said: “There has never been a better time to get active afloat.
"With so much focus on physical and mental wellbeing, being on the water gives everyone a chance to get away from modern life, spend time with the family, have fun with friends and just enjoy the feeling of being in the fresh air and closer to nature.
"Push The Boat Out lets you discover that all for a lower cost."
Push The Boat Out aims to make the water accessible to everyone of any age, background and ability.
All kit and safety equipment is provided so participants just need old trainers that they don't mind getting wet.
Rutland Watersports is offering hour-long taster sessions during May for £5. These can be booked by calling 01780 460154.
Rutland Sailing Club has half-price sessions from £20 for a child and £22.50 for adults. These can be booked by calling 01780 721999 and mentioning 'Push the Boat Out'.
Age restrictions for children apply and people can find out more details about different offers available when they phone to book.
