The Royal Air Force Regiment Central Band of the Royal Air Force will perform a special concert at the Uppingham School Memorial Hall.

The event on October 13 is being held to mark the centenary of the World War One Armistice and all proceeds will be donated to the 2018 Poppy Appeal Fund.

Air Vice-Marshal Nigel Sudborough, President of the Oakham Branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “It will be a great privilege for us to welcome back an RAF Band to Uppingham for the second time.

“Following their highly acclaimed performance in 2014 to mark the outbreak of the ‘War to End All Wars’ we all much look forward to hearing some of its outstanding and greatly varied music.

“The Concert will provide both a moment for reflection on the end of WW1 but also raise funds for a very worthy charity.”

Tickets, which cost £17.50, are available from Oakham Museum and Castle, Uppingham Sports and Books, Stamford Music Shop, or from www.wegottickets.com/event/446168 (with a small surcharge).
