Reader's photos of the 'wolf moon' on Friday night




These wonderful photos of the 'wolf moon' were taken by Mercury reader Jason Richardson.

He captured the stunning images on Friday night when there was also a lunar eclipse, with the Moon passing through Earth's shadow.

The first full moon in January is often called a 'wolf moon' because wolves - who of course like to howl at full moons - are particularly hungry and vocal after winter.
