Get ready for some rock and roll, as the famous muddy music festival comes to the streets of Baston for this year’s Bastonbury festival taking place on May 16.

Now in it’s second year, the music festival will feature an array of local bands that will set the stage alight with their performances, including a Battle of the Bands competition which will also take place on the day.

Hosted at Brudenell Playing Field in Baston, the festival will start in the afternoon with the Battle of the Bands competition kicking off at 2pm. Each act will have a maximum of 15 minutes to perform their set, with the winner (who will be announced at 5pm) having the chance to kick off the evening’s show.

Other acts on the night will include local bands Blues Volcano and Fully Loaded from Stamford, singer and songwriter Maisie Mae, jazz band Bianca and the Top Cats and indie rock band Albion who will close the show at 10.15pm.

Alongside the music, there will be lots of food and drink available including the famous b-Active Bar, serving a wide range of beers, wines and soft drinks. There will also be a great range of food including burgers and hotdogs from award-winning Groovy Foods, handmade pizzas from Dale’s Pizzas and fresh cakes and specialist teas and coffees from Scrumdubbly. People can also bring picnics along between 2pm and 4pm.

Tickets for the event are priced at £6 for adults and £4 for children (aged between five and 16 years old) available to buy from Baston Post Office in Main Street, Baston.
