Thousands of people enjoyed a day of celebration and commemoration at the third annual Armed Forces Day held in Market Deeping on Saturday.

Organised by the Langtoft, Deeping and District branch of the Royal British Legion, the nostalgic event attracted over 2,000 people for a day of entertainment for all the family.

Organiser, Thomas Brand said: “It was absolutely fantastic - it couldn’t of gone any better!

“This has been the best year yet and has helped to put Market Deeping on the map.”

Highlights of the day included the 5jays dogs display, Peterborough Highland Pipe Band, George Formby tribute act with 1940s dancers and the Hurricane flypast.

Royal Marine Cassidy Little officially opened this year’s event by raising the British flag.
