It was thought to be a record year for visitors to Uppingham Fete, Flower and Produce Show which was held on Sunday at Tod’s Piece in glorious sunshine.

Visitors from far and wide enjoyed the afternoon with Rob Persani from Rutland Radio hosting live music from local Band “Swedish Delight”, entertainment from Rutland Morris Men and demonstrations from Launch Academy of Dance.

There were also more than 20 stall holders selling a range of delights from plants, pies and paella to furnishings, fudge, burgers and books. The youngsters also enjoyed a model ride-on railway, bouncy castles and ice-cream.

The show tent attracted 230 entries from 31 exhibitors.

The ever popular fun and light heartedly competitive Dog Show, sponsored by Thorpe-by-Water Kennels and Cattery, had over 80 entries to the seven classes. Staff from Rutland Veterinary Practice had some tough jobs judging!

Chairman of the fete committee Nicky Jervis expressed huge thanks to the committee members for working tirelessly, both on the day and in the run up to the show. She also thanked stallholders, visitors and sponsors including: James Sellicks Estate Agents, GO Cars, Phil Dowse, Uppingham Town Council and Uppingham School.
