Little Reggie arrived six days late but he’ll have to wait four years for his next birthday as he arrived on Monday, February 29.

Born to mum Maisie James and dad Christian Spires, Reggie arrived at 2.20pm at Peterborough City Hospital. He weighed 8lb 5oz. He’s now at home in Parker’s Close, Stamford.

Maisie said friends and family had teased them that the new arrival would arrive on leap day but they didn’t believe that would be the case! She said they would probably celebrate in the future on March 1 as Reggie’s big sister Darcey, two, celebrates her birthday on February 27.

The chances of having a leap birthday are one in 1,461.
