Council leaders for the Deepings and Bourne are making a fresh appeal for help to rid both areas of dog fouling.

South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) is promoting its online dog fouling report service while working with dog owners to help reduce animal waste in neighbourhoods across the district.

A council spokesman said: “SKDC is aware that most dog owners are very responsible and educate fellow owners to always pick up after their dogs in public spaces.

“Dog fouling signs are present across the district warning dog owners of their responsibilities to pick up after their animals, with the possibility that SKDC can issue a fixed penalty of £75 to those who do not comply with the rules.

“Owners are also reminded that their pets’ waste can be placed in litter bins as long as it is bagged.

“If owners can provide details of those who choose to not follow the rules, this should be reported at www.southkesteven.gov.uk/?service=CLDOFO”
