GCSE results 2021: Oundle School celebrates its pupils

Oundle School has recognised the 'richly deserved' achievements of its GCSE cohorts.

The pupils are finally able to celebrate after eighteen months of disruption and unprecedented changes both to their lives and their usual way of working and learning.

Pupils were awarded grades based on their demonstrated achievement in their chosen subjects, constituting many hours of work and preparation for questions and essays, coursework, in-school tests and mock exams.

At (I)GCSE level, 43 per cent of grades awarded were 9s, with 70 per cent 8s and 9s and 96 per cent grades 9 to 6.

Oundle’s grading policy, the grades themselves and our chosen evidence were scrutinised and approved by the examination boards, with no changes made to procedures or decisions.

Sarah Kerr-Dineen, Head of Oundle School, said: “These fine results are richly deserved by young people who have shown extraordinary determination and resilience. We are immensely proud of them.”
