Lincolnshire County Council have announced further resurfacing work taking place from today (March 30) on the A151 at Swayfield, over four evenings from 6pm through to midnight.

It will see the A151 closed from Swayfield to Corby Birkholme until April 2.

The works are funded by part of Lincolnshire County Council’s allocation of £5.4 million from the Department for Transport’s £168m pothole fund announced in June 2014.

The improvements are designed to improve sections of the road network which are reaching the end of their operational life.

Project leader, Tim Mawson, said: “Instead of waiting for potholes and ruts to form, we’re tackling sections of road where there’s a possibility the road structure could fail completely.”

The diversion route follows roads of a similar standard and is as follows:

A151 West, A1, B1176 Spittlegate Level, A52 Grantham to Osbournby, A15 to Bourne and A151 to Swayfield.

Please allow more time for your journeys. Lincolnshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
