A busy through-road in Stamford has been closed, causing chaos in the town and it's set to continue for a month.

East Street is down to one lane and three-way temporary traffic lights are in place at the crossroads of East Street, St Paul's Street, the A6121 towards Stamford Hospital and Brazenose Lane.

This is because of essential maintenance work being carried out by Stamford Endowed Schools to the footbridge. The lane will be closed until August 17.

To ease the disruption caused, Brazenose Lane has been closed as Lincolnshire County Council said that would require four-way traffic lights causing more disruption. It also coincides with work being done to a housing development on the corner of Brazenose Lane.
