A retired union director will walk 200km through Spain as part of a well-trodden pilgrimage.

Roger Ward, 64, of St Lawrence Way, Tallington, will take on part of the Via de la Plata route which crosses the west of Spain from north to south.

He will talk from Madrid to Caceres, aiming to complete the route in a fortnight.
