Market Deeping marine makes debut on Coronation Street as paralympian who will inspire Kevin Webster's son

A former Royal Marine from Market Deeping made his debut on top ITV soap Coronation Street tonight (Monday, October 22).

Cassidy Little shot to fame after appearing on The People's Strictly in 2015 - a version of Strictly Come Dancing - which saw six members of the public taking the places of famous faces, all in aid of Comic Relief. Cassidy won the show and has since been on stage.

In the ITV programme, which aired at both 7.30pm and 8.30pm, Cassidy appeared as Greg, a friend of Gary Windass who trained paralympians and was introduced to Jack Webster who recently had his leg amputated. His blade was clearly on display and at one point, he even removed it to show Jack.

Cassidy, originally from Canada, has lived in the UK for more than 10 years and told the character of Jack in tonight's episode: "You've got to live life to the max".

The former Royal Marine medic lost his right leg below the knee during a tour of Afghanistan in 2011, in an explosion that killed three of his colleagues and seriously injured another four. He is credited with helping other Marines through rehab.
