A ROYAL wedding-themed scarecrow display was among the attractions at a village fete.
St John the Evangelist Church in Ryhall attracted scores of visitors on Saturday.
Members of the church fundraising committee were helped by friends from the village and colleagues from St Mary Magdalene Church, Essendine, to put on the popular event.
One of the highlights of the event was a display of scarecrows in the church, which was inspired by the royal wedding in April.
A bride, bridegroom, bridesmaids and congregation were all part of the display along with a bell ringer hanging off a rope.
A total of 16 stalls were set up in and around the church selling cakes, tapes and CDs.
Visitors also enjoyed having a go at a number of games, which included a tombola.
The event raised £1,835.59, which will be divided between the two churches.
The fete was organised by John Finden, Dorothy Dolby and other members of the Ryhall church fundraising committee.
Mr Finden said: “It was a very good day.
“It did draw a lot of people and it was packed all afternoon.”
