Rutland County Council to hold by-election for Ryhall and Casterton ward after councillor failed to formally accept his position as he was unwell
A notice of election for the office of Rutland County Councillor was published on Wednesday, August 7, for Ryhall and Casterton ward following the receipt of two requests from local electors.
The vacancy has arisen because Christopher Parsons has not met the deadline to formally accept his position as a county councillor following May’s Local Government Elections. This was because he was unwell.
Three people have now been nominated as candidates for the ward.
The poll for the Ryhall and Casterton by-election will take place on September 12, 2019 between 7am and 10pm. The three candidates nominated are as follows:
- Richard Stephen Coleman, Conservative Party Candidate
- Steve Fay, The Green Party
- Beverley Jane Helen Wrigley-Pheasant, Liberal Democrat
