His seat as a Ward Member for Oakham South West will remain vacant until May 2019, as a by-election cannot be called within six months of scheduled local government elections (due to take place in Rutland on May 2).

The outcome of complaints about Coun Alderman made to Rutland County Council under its Code of Conduct will be reported to the Council’s next Standards Committee.

Coun Alderman pleaded guilty to four charges of sending grossly offensive or menacing messages relating to several social media posts he made last year.
