Rutland MP Alan Duncan met his Youth Parliament counterpart Abi Lovering in Uppingham on Friday last week.

Abi and Alan discussed the campaigns that are being run by the Youth Parliament. Nationally, the Youth Parliament is campaigning against racism and religious discrimination and locally, members of the Youth Parliament are continuing their campaign, started last year, on mental health awareness. In particular, Abi highlighted the importance of recognising and treating mental health problems.

Alan said: “I was enormously impressed by Abi and her work in the Youth Parliament.

“She is passionate and effective in raising the issues that are important to her and other young people and we are lucky to have such an enthusiastic local representative.”
