A summer workshop of just shy of 400 pupils from 13 primary schools in the county was held for youngsters to celebrate their singing.

The workshop was led by Rutland Music, the county music hub, and culminated in a performance led by Peter Davis, director of music at Oakham School.

In the weeks leading up to the workshop, elective school classes or choirs and their teachers worked together on a set repertoire.

Peter Davis said: “It was wonderful to hear their enthusiastic singing on each day, as well as witness how much they have learned from the experience.”
