Rutland rated as third best place to live in the UK
Rutland has once again been ranked the third best place to live in the country according the Halifax Quality of Life Survey 2019.
The county finished in the same position last year and is also ranked as having the best exam results in England with 81.4 per cent of pupils achieving a standard GCSE pass (9-4) in English and Maths, well ahead of the UK average which stands at 65.1 per cent.
The survey also noted that:
-Residents feel fit and well with more than nine in 10 (96.5 per cent) reporting good or fairly good health – UK average 79.5 per cent.
-Rutland ranks in the top 15 for both male and female life expectancy at 82 and 85 years respectively.
-The latest Office for National Statistics figures indicate adults living in Rutland are amongst the most satisfied and content in the UK.
-Rutland has some of the largest homes in the country with numbers of rooms on average 6.4 – versus the UK average of 5.5.
-Also benefits from smaller primary school class sizes (26.2).
