A SAILING group for people with disabilities has had a boost from Rotary clubs around the area.

Rutland Sailability based at Rutland Water Sailing Club in Edith Weston was visited by Rotary International of Britain and Ireland president Ray Burman and wife the Rt Hon Victoria Burman, district 1070 governor Linda May and husband Roger May together with rotarians from 20 Rotary Clubs and six other Sailability Clubs last week.

Rotary clubs from all over the East Midlands have been raising money for a new trailer for the racing team’s boats and general boat maintenance.

The representatives were given a tour of the club and some even took to the water in the boats used by Rutland Sailibility.

The event also marked the end of the road for volunteer Fred Yarwood who is moving to Yorkshire. He was presented with a book.
